Ziyad Yakubu is a documentary filmmaker and author interested in the stories that sit just outside the frame.

His work moves between film and the page, with a focus on Africa and beyond, exploring how societies change, how people build, why some places thrive while others struggle, and what we can learn from the world around us.

He is the host of The Paths We Take and the author of Saving Africa. His work sits somewhere between storytelling, history, culture, economics, and everyday human experience. He is less interested in telling you what to think than in taking you somewhere, showing you something interesting, and asking better questions along the way.

Based between Abuja and wherever the next story begins, he is currently working on a new documentary series and his second book, Conscious Adoption.
